My guess is that you already knew that downloading any form of music without purchase is illegal, but your real question is if you can get caught by downloading from megaupload/rapidshare Since youre not uploading to any other users and it is a direct download it would be very difficult for the school to know what you are downloading. On the other hand, if you were getting music from bittorrent or p2p network it would be easier for the school to find out based on the traffic generated from uploads as well as connections to other users. So you dont have much to worry about if you download content from upload sites.
