Is downloading music ethical?

0

I believe downloading music is ethical – as ethical as taping music off the radio, which we’ve all done. Technically, its illegal, but there aren’t huge campaigns against it. It’s ridiculous that people are comparing it to say, stealing something from a shop. No. Stealing something from a shop is physically taking something which will no longer be there for anyone else to buy. Both the shop and customers will be at a disadvantage, as well as the person who made it. Downloading music is completely different. The music is still there, and as you probably wouldn’t have bought it anyway, the artist/record companies are at no disadvantage. Internet downloading is a small dent in the massive fortunes of musicians – in fact, it has been shown that music sales are on the increase.
