If there is anything figure skaters Dorothy Hamill and Scott Hamilton can be thankful for this Thanksgiving, it is for having the courage to fight a grave disease, and still lead a normal life while doing what they love. Both Hamill and Hamilton are cancer survivors. Hamill, the 1976 Olympic champion, is recovering from breast cancer. Hamilton, the 1984 Olympic gold medalist, is a survivor of testicular cancer. He later suffered from a benign brain tumor as well. Despite their fight with cancer, both Hamill and Hamilton are still very active in their sport. Hamill mentors U.S. Championship silver medalist Rachael Flatt. Hamilton performed with Stars On Ice for fifteen years. He is now a regular skating commentator, and a TV personality. Hamill and Hamilton will be skating together on Thanksgiving Day. It will be the first performance in more than five years for Hamilton, who has been battling his brain tumor all this time. The inspirational skate will be part of the “Kaleidoscope” show
