Is dna sequencing same as dna fingerprinting ?
NO. DNA sequencing means determining the exact sequence of DNA ‘letters’ across a long stretch of DNA. DNA fingerprinting looks at things like the regions of DNA that have variable numbers of repeated sequences. It doesn’t determine the exact sequence of the DNA in those regions; it just basically counts how many repeats are present in a given location. See link below.
