Is DISH Network better than DirecTV?

0

DirecTV has more PayPerView movies. Dish Network has more PayPerView sports. Other than that, the usual programming is about the same for about identical costs. Dish Network has a new sales campaign where you can puchase a “family friendly” package for under $20 a month, and DirecTV doesn’t offer that. Both companies now offer local programming for about $5 per month. Dish Network bought the high definition TV company called Voom, and they’re about to roll out a very nice HD package if you’re into that. DirecTV has had HD programming a number of years, and so has Dish Network. The picture quality of both companies standard programming is degraded and doesn’t look good on a big screen TV. This is caused by picture compression they both use to gain bandwidth and have more channels yet use less frequency space. For the best in TV picture quality, nothing beats a 10 foot BUD (Big Ugly Dish). Unfortunately these are going the way of the dinosaur. Check out www.4dtv.com and look at the list
