Is Disarmament Feasible?

However, the question of feasibility arises, especially within the near future. Some experts seen global elimination of nuclear weapons in the near future. In his article, “Ban the Bomb. Really,” Michael Krepon, of the Henry L. Stimson Center, advocates that we are riding the fourth “wave” of nuclear abolition in the history of nuclear weapons. The previous three “waves” came at times of heightened political and cultural activity, but were unsuccessful in securing their goals of abolition. This new “wave” of abolition is stronger because it is subtle, slow moving, and aims to address the common global concern of nuclear terrorism.
