Is Del Rio Leading Candidate for USC Job?
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Jack Del Rio appears to be emerging as a leading candidate for the USC head coaching job. Of course right now, he’s still employed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Multiple sources have put Del Rio atop the Southern Calwish listespecially after Mike Riley signed a contract extension to stay at Oregon State and Jeff Fisher took his name out of the running. Del Rio is a USC guy andwas the MVP of the 1985 Rose Bowl. He has been interested in college coaching before. In 2005,he was linked to the LSU job that eventually went to Les Miles. Del Rio and Jags owner Wayne Weaver are supposed to meet this week about the team’s direction.The Jags finished up a 7-9 season with four straight losses.Over the last two years, Jacksonville has gone 12-20, and Del Rio is 58-57 in his seven years as an NFL head coach.
