Is death psychosomatic?

Normally I would say no. But I am sure that there are cases in which the opposite would apply. I once read a manuscript written by an old Shaolin Abbot who claimed that change was neccesary to continue the growth and regrowth of your body, including the brain. Repetition is what causes the body to discontinue renewing itself. So the thinking exercises which he described were neccesary to keep the brain in a state of constant change and therefore allowing it to grow and restore itself. It was an interesting read. So according to him, death is partially psychosomatic.
