Is death by cyanide painful?
It rather depends on the amount of cyanide you get. A small amount would certainly put a cramp in your day, not to mention your belly- and that would be painful. You’d also have trouble breathing, and that usually causes a great deal of distress in people. A large dose usually causes seizures and loss of consciousness, which is not painful as a rule. Unfortunately, people who die from it are not able to give us much insight on the amount of pain it caused in the process. Those who survive don’t want to repeat the experience though, so I don’t imagine it’s very pleasant.
