Is Dan Snyder quietly silencing critics?
Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder has been amazingly restrained over his critics at ESPN-980 despite buying the station a couple years ago. Multiple sources say he’s never interceded with coverage despite how critical of the team or him. But, there’s obviously a back way of doing things. Recently, Brian Mitchell and Al Koken were not retained when their contracts ended. It wasn’t about anything they did wrong. It was about money, supposedly. Snyder is trying to get rid of higher-priced talent. OK, the excuse has a whiff of truth, but we all know Snyder spends money when it counts and it should have counted with Koken and Mitchell. They’re both very good at what they do. But, this was an easy way to get rid of two people that speak against the team. Several more moves are expected. ESPN-980 already stinks.
