The insured had leased a building in Countryside, Illinois, where he operated a gas station and convenience store. The gas pumps were owned by the lessor of the premises and were bolted onto a concrete island in the ground. They had been installed by the lessor for the purpose of operating the gas station. Pekin had issued to A & A Market a businessowner’s policy on October 5, 1995, which was in full force for one year, had a limit of $100,000 and covered the insured’s business personal property but did not cover the building. On December 10, 1995, an automobile accident occurred at the intersection near the premises, and a tire from one of the cars hit one of the gas pumps on the premises, causing substantial damage to the gas pump.
