Is DAFNE suitable for children with Type 1 diabetes?

0

DAFNE was developed for adults with Type 1 diabetes and as such is not suitable for children with Type 1 diabetes. However it is clear that the DAFNE principles may be applied to children, but there would need to be significant changes to the curriculum to make it suitable for children. A group of doctors in Sheffield are currently developing a DAFNE type programme for 11-16 year olds. This research is in the early stages and will be piloted in units in Derby, Manchester and Sheffield. For further information and updates please refer to the Further DAFNE research of this website.
