Is Daedalus Athenas or King Minoss son?

0

There are a few versions: Possibly Athena and Hephaestus Possibly his father was King Erechtheus Metion, Eupalamus and Palamaon are possible fathers and Alcippe (or Alkipi), IphinoĆ« and Phrasimede are possible mothers. Other sources say that he was Erechtheus’ grandson (therefore Metion’s son) Daedalus (or Daidalos) was a craftsman/stomemason in Athens during Minos’ rule, given extraodinary ability by Athena. His work supposedly was able to move by itsself. Most stories vary but usually have the same root. Daedalus is jelous of his nephew’s natural ability and throws him to his death and is banished to crete. Daedalus then builds the Labrynth and when he wasn’t allowed to leave he built him and his son, Icarus (or Ikoros), wings to fly away. Also as a side note, the minotaur was created by either Minos’ wife or Athena ‘getting busy with’ one of Zeus’ sacrificail bulls and giving birth to an bull headed man.
