Is current Catholic doctrine on birth control a sustainable practice?

Yes, of course it is a sustainable practice. It’s not the birth of children that affects the climate, it is the misuse of earthly resources. Catholics are supposed to be good stewards of the environment, which means we are supposed to reduce/eliminate waste, recycle, etc. to keep the world healthy and viable for sustaining all life. I know for a fact that my family of five generates less garbage, carbon emissions, etc., than the single guy I work with who drives everywhere, lives on fast food and prepackaged meals, doesn’t pay any attention to whether or not his laundry detergent is biodegradable or anything else, doesn’t recycle and doesn’t care!
