Is curing required for thermoplastic adhesives?

Ablestik thermoplastic paste products consist of solid high molecular weight polymers dissolved in a solvent. Heating is required only to remove solvents from the paste adhesive and melt the thermoplastic. A traditional curing step is not necessary. Since these thermoplastic paste products are solvent-based, solvent evaporation during storage, handling, or/and application can have adverse effects on rheological properties and reduces the open time of the adhesive. A curing step is not required for thermoplastic film products. Heating is required only to soften/reflow the film adhesives; heat and pressure are required to bond to both adherends.
