Is cubism primitive art?
Cubism is not primitive art, although primitive art was an inspiration for cubism artists. The first cubism artists were Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, who began experimenting with the style in the early 1900s. Most art historians agree that cubism was primarily a reaction against three dimensional “illusionist” classical art and an attempt to create two dimensional canvas art.
