Is creating a Wifi network for my office or café very different from installing a wireless network at home?
That depends on the size of the network. If all your clients are within 100 feet of the wireless router, your network will be operational as soon as you plug that router in, establish a connection to the internet, and configure the wireless connections on all the client PCs (and other wireless devices such as VOIP phones) to make a network connection with the router. However, if your installation is larger — a factory, perhaps, or a very large office — many of your clients will be too far from the router to access the network. In this case you will need to buy additional Access Points (APs), place them properly, and connect them to the router — usually by cable, sometimes on a wireless connection. If the installation becomes extremely complex you may need to deploy switches, hubs, and other advanced networking hardware in order to maintain viable connections for far-flung locations and subnets.
