Is cramping normal in early pregnancy?
Cramping is a normal side effect in early pregnancy, however, intense or continuous cramping maybe signs of a more serious condition and one’s doctor should be consulted immediately. Three of the most common reasons for cramping are 1) As your body is preparing to carry your beautiful, sprouting baby, your uterus is growing quickly 2) Occurs when the egg attaches itself to the uterine wall and 3) the most complained about (I know cause I’m 5 months pregnant!) The muscles around the uterus are also expanding and growing along with the uterus. Mild cramping can continue through your 2nd and 3rd trimester as your uterus is still growing and adjusting to the weight and size of your growing baby. It is always helpful to keep a journal of how you are feeling throughout your pregnancy and bring this information with you to your prenatal appointments. This will help keep you and your doctor ahead of what’s going on with you during your pregnancy. These cramps are the least of your worries, lab
