No, not for economic purposes. If it is grown it is for educational purposes or just for fun. Some grow it to have for the Burton Cotton Gin Festival each year. Texas A&M Univ. located approximately 45 miles northeast of Burton grows acres of cotton for continuing research purposes. Texas is still the highest cotton producing state in the USA.
