Sold through infomercials and websites, Coral calcium counts among its proponents Robert R. Barefoot, who is sometimes referred to as “Doctor Barefoot” although his credentials are unclear; and Kevin Trudeau, previously jailed for credit card and financial fraud and in September 2004 banned by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from appearing in health-related infomercials.
