Is Congress overstepping its authority since Nancy Pelosis became Speaker?
The job of the Congress is very complex, and certainly not limited to controlling the purse, as some would have us believe. In today’s corrosively partisan atmosphere this question cannot be truly debated without taking political allegiances out of the equation. This is a very difficult feat I know, but one that is essential in this regard. The original question of “is Congress overstepping its authority since Nancy Pelosi became speaker” says it all regarding the prejudice of the originator. The question is loaded because Nancy Pelosi is a liberal democrat. Any short-sighted conservative, upon seeing her name in this or any question related to governmental authority, will surely object.
