Yes / No; Describe and quote Because the college’s strategic plan reflects the college’s mission, Civic Engagement is a critical component of each year’s plan. The strategic plan for the 2005-06 academic year included a section entitled “Civic Engagement Locally and Globally” and included a host of activities including the development of a spring break civic engagement project, further development of international service learning opportunities and partnerships between the MCC education department and the Lowell Public Schools. A new three year strategic plan is presently being finalized; civic engagement, service learning and the promotion of active citizenry will be included as important components of the overall plan. • Does the institution provide professional development support for faculty and/or staff who engage with community?
