Is Communities in Schools East/Deep East Texas planning to expand?
YES! Communities in Schools East/Deep East Texas today provides case management services to just over 2,000 students. However, this is but a drop in the bucket. Region 7 has a staggering 45.5% ‘at-risk’ rating, not to mention Region 8 at 42.9% and Region 6 at 41.0%! Communities in Schools East/Deep East Texas currently has campus-based programs in Marshall ISD, Jefferson ISD, Ore City ISD, Pine Tree ISD, New Diana ISD, Tyler ISD, Gladewater ISD, Mineola ISD, West Rusk ISD, Conroe ISD, Crockett ISD, and Lufkin ISD. We are constantly being asked by other public school districts across East Texas and Deep East Texas about bringing our services to their district – funding is the only limitation! As for the four districts we currently serve today, there are more than 16 schools that still need a Communities in Schools East/Deep East Texas program.
