Is commercial bio ethanol worthwhile?

Yes. Well, maybe. They are environmentally better but our government still demands fuel duty and VAT, so they are not cheap – in fact they are dearer than fossil fuels. Additionally, there is not enough land free at present to grow sufficient crops to supply all of our needs. Commercial ethanol is not really the answer but it is a step in the right direction.
