The colorant we use is made of pure synthesized iron oxides which, if properly used are ecologically harmless. The pigment of the colorant used is the same that is required of colorants for childrens toys and finger paints. It is classified as non-hazardous in water which means that it also has no detrimental effect on the quality of drinking water. Iron oxide occurs naturally, making up 5% of the earths crust. The application of colored mulch has a minimal impact on the natural composition of soil.
