My mission is helping parents homeschool high school, and I have some “general” special needs information that can help put your mind at ease in a few areas. First of all, the college admission tests do allow for special needs children to get accommodation for the SAT. That usually means they will allow more time for the test, but there may be other accommodations as well. So do not feel like your student will necessarily score poorly on the test! With a doctor’s diagnosis, you should be able to get accommodation. It will take a lot of effort on your part, but it will be worth it. Second, there are colleges that specialize in dyslexia, and market to students with dyslexia. You should be able to find a college that is a “perfect fit” for your student, even if your student has difficulty even when they are a senior.
