Is coaching like counselling?

0

Coaching is for those people who want to make a positive change in their lives by moving forward. It does not deal with looking at and analysing the past, which often happens in counselling. This does not mean that the past never appears or cannot be discussed, particularly as coaching often asks us to discard negative past habits. It is simply that we do not dwell on past problems and try to resolve them. Coaching looks to the future and the opportunities available. If, during the course of coaching, it appeared that coaching was not the right solution for the client, the coach would advise him or her of this so that alternative arrangements could be made.
