Is CMLP currently accepting new applications?
At present, CMLP is accepting new applications. We insure physicians who are joining either as solo practioners or as part of a group. Group medical malpractice insurance policies, both for the individual physicians and the corporate entity are common products that are offered by CMLP. The risk retention group mechanism allows it’s members, as owners of the captive, to exercise greater control over the underwriting function. As physician owners, the members of the underwriting committee have acute insight with respect to the risks associated with the industry. Although we offer coverage to the entire array of medical and surgical physician specialties, both MD and DO, we also provide insurance for the PA’s, NP’s and nurses associated with these practices. An application with CMLP is not a guarantee of insurance.
