Is clover a weed?
Traditionally the turf industry and the various institutes who conduct scientific studies related to turf regard white clover as a weed and are more concerned with getting rid of clover than with establishing it. Attitudes are rapidly changing, while there there is still a general scarcity of scientific information related to establishing and maintaining clover in lawns, it is a good ground cover. There is however, a great deal of literature on the biology and ecological benefits of white clover in pastures and fields.
