Is classical music an inspiration for Lady Gagas songs?

Stefani Germanotta (which is who ‘Lady Gaga’ really is), received quite an intensive musical education. She is no dumb blonde. If there are classical influences in her music, they are well hidden. Personally, I think it is a shame that a talented young musician should choose such a worthless (although not for her bank account!) and cynical career path, devoid of artistic integrity. I like to think of myself as a very broad-minded and open-eared music lover across many genres, but I find a lot of the 2000s musical pap without any identity or value whatsoever. Musical ‘let’s make a fast buck’ cynicism at its very worst.
