Is cipralex -lexapro a good antideppressant for ocd and anxiety .?
Lexapro is not indicated or approved by the FDA to treat OCD, however, it is approved to treat anxiety. If you are suffering from both, you may do better on Luvox or Prozac which are both approved for OCD and anxiety. Patients that have OCD tend to have anxiety due to not being able to control their OCD tendencies. That is what the obsessions are about. Sometimes combination therapy is needed with an antidepressant and other medications such as mood stabilizers or anti-anxiety meds. Continue to work with your Dr. to find the right medications for you. Don’t ever stop taking your medications without talking with your Dr. first.
