Smoking or tobacco use of any kind is not permitted on any property owned or leased by Rogers Memorial Hospital with the sole exception of adults in our residential and our adult partial program in Oconomowoc. Wisconsin state statutes indicate that we cannot prevent residential populations from smoking with a “resident” in one of our facilities and residents are allowed to smoke in designated areas. In order to comply with our tobacco free environment, adult partial patients in Oconomowoc would have to leave the premises, which could be detrimental to their safety and treatment time since there is no safe public are for them to go to. Therefore, adult partial patients in Oconomowoc are allowed to use tobacco products only in designated areas as well. At our Milwaukee hospital, the entire campus is tobacco free, which includes inside and outside the building as well as the parking lot.
