Is Child Dedication Infant Baptism?
Child Dedication is not infant baptism. While baptism or christening is a significant rite of passage for infants in a variety of faiths, we believe the Bible teaches that baptism is reserved for those who have already made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, and are old enough to grasp the role of baptism as an outward symbol of their faith. How Do I Dedicate My Child at CCC? Child Dedication at Christ Community Church is a three part process. First, we ask that parents sign-up to attend an orientation. The orientation will be brief and will give you all the materials that you will need to complete the rest of the Child Dedication process. After leaving the orientation, parents will then watch three brief messages and complete a short homework assignment after each message. The last part of process is the “Celebration Event”. This is a time for parents to invite close friends and family members to come celebrate this young life and share what they learned during the homework proces
