Is chicken pox a disease?
Interestingly, if you get Chicken Pox, the virus continues to reside in your body for the rest of your life, hiding out in the nervous system. It can suddenly become active years or decades later, erupting in an itching burning rash called Shingles. The rash usually disappears in about 2 weeks, but the itching and burning can continue for weeks because of nerve inflammation caused by the varicella eruption.
