PGA officials probably should be on the lookout for golf fan pranksters trying to smuggle in flatulence machines at Hazeltine. Tiger Woods has been linked to what sounded like gas being passed in his vicinity at the Buick Open in Michigan because he and caddy Steve Williams descended into giggles after this extended, vigorous rumbling was picked up by a microphone. “You never know,” Nelson Silverio, PGA Tour media information manager, said to me today, when reached by phone in Florida. “You can’t carry anything that’s electronic onto the course anyway. If it fits that category, I would think security would stop it. That event is run by the PGA of America, so they have their own security team and guidelines.
