Is charged cumulonimbus clouds useful for mankind ?
Charged cumulonimbus clouds can be very useful for man. They often result in thunderstorms, a valuable part of many aspects of the environment. The most useful product is rain, which in moderation is necessary for life and society. Excessive rain can be destructive, but also is part of the ecosystem, clearing waterways, moving nutrients, etc. Lightning, while at times destructive, is also an important part of the environment. Lightning produces in the atmosphere ozone (both in the lower levels – considered a pollutant, and in the lower parts of the ozone layer – not a pollutant) and and other compounds. Lightning also causes fires which are necessary for some plants to reproduce and clearing old growth. Winds even though destructive at times are also an important part of the environment, spreading seeds and at times clearing old growth allowing new growth to take it’s place.
