Is Centova Messenger an open-source product?
No, Centova Messenger will not be released under an open-source license. WebMessenger was originally released under an open-source license with hopes of attracting other open-source developers, because the creator of the project did not have sufficient time to maintain the project on his own. Unfortunately, this approach failed — while the project became popular, there was little developer interest, and the project was essentially abandoned for many months. Faced with the decision to either let the project die, or revive it as a proprietary product (the proceeds of which can be used to fund development), we have opted for the latter. We understand that this may upset some existing users, but the alternative would have been to cease development permanently. We feel that this is a far better choice.
