Is cauda equina syndrome classed as a disabillity?

I was given disability benefit for 18 months following surgery to treat cauda equina which left me with some nerve damage and muscle weakness (there were also complications as a result of the surgery, this may or may not have been a factor in the decision to grant disability, I don’t know). However, I didn’t reapply when it expired, as I have managed to return to work, against all odds!
