Is Carreg Cennen castle in Carmarthenshire the UKs most romantic ruin?
A BEAUTIFUL Carmarthenshire castle might just be Britain’s most romantic. Carreg Cennen Castle, along with Llansteffan Castle, has been shortlisted in Countryfile Magazine’s ten most romantic ruins in the UK. The shortlist, compiled by a panel including John Craven and Countryfile’s Jules Hudson, will now be put to the public to allow them to vote for their favourite. The BBC’s One Show star Alex Jones’s vote would be for Carreg Cennen Castle, as she has chosen it as her favourite site in historic monuments body Cadw’s Heritage in Wales membership magazine.
