Is Carnival really the “Wal-Mart” of cruise lines?
We have personally experienced Carnival cruises where there were NOT drunken college kids on board, but just understand that Carnival appeals to a crowd that can afford to cruise, albeit at a lesser price than say Royal Caribbean. Carnival runs a very good cruiseline and appeals to families, older people, young ones and first time cruisers because they are affordable and allow just about everyone to partake in their itineraries with lower prices than other cruise lines. You may give up a certain amount of luxury on a Carnival cruise, or your expectations of the food served may have been higher, but all in all, Carnival gives its passengers their money’s worth and is highly recommended, especially for new and first time cruisers. Even experienced cruisers come back to Carnival after they realize that paying a couple thousand more for a climbing rock and ice skating rink do not compensate for the additiona fares. Have fun on a Carnival cruise lines, that is what they are there for!
I’d say yes, it is the Wal-mart of cruise lines. Because it is the largest, most affordable best bang for the buck one. It has more sailings then other cruise lines from many different ports. I’m taking a carnival cruise, and I also shop at Walmart. It is the party ship cruise line, so if you want something for children, or a quiet romantic cruise you should probably go somewhere else. There will be 20-something drunken college kids on Carnival.
