Is campus accessible by public transportation?
Yes. In addition to the UMass Lowell shuttle, the LRTA (Lowell Regional Transit Authority) provides bus service to campus, originating at the Kennedy Bus Transfer Station at the Gallagher Intermodal Transportation Center. The MBTA provides commuter rail service from Boston to Lowell, terminating at the Gallagher terminal where bus service to campus is accessible. Is transportation provided on weekends? Yes! We provide limited service during the weekend. Check our online schedules for the most up-to-date information. What if I need a ride in the paratransit van? If you are in need of our paratransit services, please contact x2596 or leave a message at x2222, and we will contact you with information on how to contact us whenever you need a ride. Can I be picked up at the train station? Transportation to and from both North and South Campus and to the Gallagher Terminal Train Station can be accessed using the LRTA bus service.
