Is Calzaghe now the best pound for pound boxer on the planet?
I Agree with Harold’s Calzaghe opinion, but not with his commercial. Calzaghe is in the top ten on my list, but needs to log a few wins over prime young fighters to rise any higher. A victory over Roy Jones Jr. will not be enough, Jones is considered a shot fighter by most serious pundits, and adding another aging past his prime hall of famer to the resume of Calzghe near the end of his own career will not enhance his historical legacy that much more. I could be wrong, media PR being what it is, inferior fighters are sometimes over rated, the fiction worked with some Tyson fans. Calzaghe fans may crave legitimacy for Joe more than he and Warren do, so there will always be the argument. But that’s what makes these sites fun. For now, the little guys still have a serious lead on the rest of boxing and at least Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto and even Marquez have the leg up on Joe.
