Is CAD application PDMS suitable for plant layout work ?

I have experience from Catia V5 Plant application and now moving to PDMS raises a lot of questions. We can for example easily incorporate other cad formats into Catia. It is very easy to 3D-model all kinds of medium difficult 3D-shapes. Please let me know your PDMS experience, such as learning curve and library creation and other issues before designing at full speed.
