Is CaCO3 more soluble in acid or water and why?

0

CaCO3 is practicaly unsoluble in water because the polarized moleculles of water cannot penatrate the CaCO3 lattice. But any kind of acid is able to react with the -2(CO3) and create another Ca salt realising CO2 ,for example : CaCO3 + 2HCl = CaCl2 + H2O + CO2 . CaCl2 is very soluble.
