Is CA a good glue to use?
CA glue is an excellent glue for almost all aspects of modelling; especially rigging lines and seizing of lines. It will stain natural wood if too much is used however, a little goes a long way. It comes is various speeds and viscosity; fast, slow, thin, gap filling, etc. If you want super fast, there is an accelerator called “insta-set” but this may cause further staining. If you’re going to paint, it’s not a problem. Some tips: 1.CA won’t stick to wax paper (use this as a work surface. 2.Acetone will unglue CA (use to clean clogged nozzles and stuck fingers) 3.To apply small amounts, use an insulin or TB syringe ( keep the steel needle clear though). 4. For rigging: run your line, get correct taught ness/sag, belay-off and use small drop @ belay for instant set; use on lines to stiffen them @ a desired position; use CA on tip of line and cut at an angle = instant block threader. 5.CA can be used for planking but be careful not to get it on the planks outer surface (it will glue wet w
