Is C-SPAN Cable for Crazy People?
Goldblog reader Erich Theiss writes: I don’t think I’m exaggerating by writing that the majority of the people who call in to C-SPAN are crazy. For Bill Scanlan to act so nonplussed by the caller is not a surprise. If he had to respond to every caller, no one would call. I have actually seen one show where the host introduced the caller and the caller proceeded to make farting noises, then the host cut the call off by politely saying ‘we appear to be having technical difficulties’. C-SPAN appears to have a general policy of non-censorship (how else could they cover the crazies in Congress?). I think your ire is misdirected at C-SPAN and should be more focused on the general persistence of anti-Semitism that is exposed by that C-SPAN segment.
