Is Bud Light Beer necessarily a good beer to drink?
This comes as a big surprise to me. I truly expected that Budweiser American Ale was the furthest that Anheuser-Busch Inbev was willing to push the Budweiser/Bud Light brand. But here we have what sounds like a Belgian wit soon to be sold with the Bud Light label. Using their Michelob label A-B has demonstrated that they can make wheat beer. While they haven’t produced any beers that one could call exciting they have brewed some decent interpretations of traditional Bavarian wheat beer. Whether this new Bud Light product will continue in that vein or not is hard to say. Regardless of whether or not beer geeks like me will like this new Golden Wheat it’s a smart move. Wheat beer is huge and only getting bigger. In Germany where they’ve known the joys of wheat ale for a long time wheat beer makes up a huge part of the total beer sales. Wheat beer in the US hasn’t quite reached those levels but within the craft beer movement it owns a significant market share. Coors has enjoyed incredible
