Is Brno a good place to live?
A8. Most opinions expressed on the Brno Expats Forum are very positive. Any occasional complaints are generally connected with poor customer service and problems related to the language barrier. In short, there are pubs and restaurants to suit nearly all tastes and budgets. As a “student city” with no less than six universities there is no shortage of night life. The winter months are filled with cultural events of all types and in the summer there are several festivals in and around the city. Brno now has top-level teams in both Czech ice-hockey and soccer. In addition it hosts a round of the world Moto Grand Prix and world class womens’ tennis in the Fed Cup. There are several out of town shopping malls with cinemas and other leisure facilities in addition to local supermarkets, shopping arcades and the atmospheric fruit and vegetable market in the city centre.
