A day long conference which will offer analysis and commentary on the Government’s promise to project Britain as a beacon of racial equality to the World is to be held on Monday 19th May. The event, entitled The Future of Race Relations in Britain is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Lawrence, murdered by a racist gang ten years ago on 22nd April 1993. It will be held at Camden Council Chamber, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London WC1. Guest Speaker will include Kick It Out chair, Sir Herman Ouseley, writer Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, educationalist Gus John plus Imran Khan, Arun Kundnani and Suresh Grover. All are welcome, but limited spaces are so booking is essential – conference fee: 20 for Statutory agencies; 5 for the rest. The conference is jointly organised by a unique partnership involving African Refugee Housing Action Group, Refugee and Migrant Forum, National Civil Rights Movement, The Asian Health Agency and The Monitoring Group.
