Is Brighter Planet for-profit or not-for-profit?
Brighter Planet is unabashedly a for-profit company. Prior to our launch, we weighed heavily the decision of whether to structure ourselves as a business or an NGO. Ultimately, we decided that fighting climate change with a business model that sustains itself through revenue held more potential than a model that must sustain itself through outside donations and grants. As a socially responsible company, we believe that business can and should be a powerful force for making positive change in the world.
